“Inside Out,” released in 2015, was a movie that got kids and adults involved in the main character Riley’s journey through a challenging phase of her life. Riley’s emotions; Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Fear and Anger worked together to overcome these challenges.
A sequel longed by many, from kids and teens to adults, is being released in June 2024. After almost 9 years, we are going to adventure once again with Riley’s emotions and changes. Kelsey Mann, the director of “The Good Dinosaur” and “Purl” will be the one in charge directing “Inside Out 2.” Since the trailer was released we were able to have a little peek on what we should be expecting; new emotions such as envy and anxiety.
People all over social media have been saying that they believe this movie will be more focused on teenager changes, like mood and everyday issues. By watching this movie we will be able to better understand how teenagers think and empathize with them. Every movie has a moral of the story, “Inside Out 2” moral might be to learn what teenagers go through and make conscience of their emotions.
Through my personal experience, sometimes it’s hard to explain my feelings or things I’m going through as it is not easy for adults to completely understand or help. “Inside Out” is a movie I enjoyed when I was a kid and I still do. With the second movie, hopefully we’ll be able to relate and say “that’s how I feel,” which might be easier for us to express and for others to acknowledge.
Everyday, people all around the world struggle with expressing their feelings whether it’s a positive emotion or something they are having an issue with. People saying what they think or feel is as important as drinking water. Not only does it make us feel better afterward, but we can avoid later complications with our health.
According to the article “Ignoring your emotions is bad for your health. Here’s what to do about it.” By Times Magazine, not expressing ourselves increases our heart rate, slows digestive functions and makes us feel anxious or depressed. In addition to this, it also helps humans to sort out their thoughts, talking about their feelings leads to a clearer mind.
When a movie comes out I highly recommend watching it as it can give us advice or even help us relate to something we are going through. Movies are not just made to entertain but also to teach and what better way to learn than through our favorite animated characters.
