Spring is always a fun time for everybody, but not everybody knows where the fun is. Austin has many different places and activities to do during the spring.
- Barton Springs
A big activity that practically everyone in Austin enjoys when it’s warm out is Barton Springs. Barton Springs is a local pool that contains real spring water, which keeps the pool nice and cold for a hot day out. A plus about Barton Springs is that it is separated into two sections. Both of the sections are public, but one side is free with no lifeguards and a sort of lake vibe, and the other is more of a pool vibe with an entry fee that varies based on your age.
2. Zilker Park
Another popular activity for the locals is Zilker Park. Zilker is a very popular place to go, especially during springtime. It is very peaceful, and it is a nice place to hang out with friends and family. It is home to many different picnic facilities, and it is located near Lady Bird Lake. It’s a nice way to spend the day sitting by the lake with friends and feeling the breeze flowing through your hair.
3. South Congress Avenue
South Congress Avenue is a great place to shop and eat food with friends and family. It has many different shops and restaurants that you could enjoy. It’s a nice excuse to go for a walk and to spend money. Not only does it have places to eat and shop, but it also has live music venues. This is just a cluster of activities in one. Even when shopping with friends, you could all do your own thing in the same place, whether it be shopping, eating or listening to music.
Austin has a lot of different places and activities to do in the springtime, and it is a positive thing for the locals and the tourists. Go out and explore new places whether it be swimming or shopping.
